question to md5sum

hi all,
the file hash_fd.c has the config option MD5SUM_SIZE_VS_SPEED.
it seem it is hardcoded now:

# define MD5SUM_SIZE_VS_SPEED 2

a comment says:

  *                     user times (sec)  text size (386)

  *     3 (smallest)        5.1                4912



question:
should the option be removed or become a config option ?
