BB-1.91 patch applet problem

Hi.
  System svn:uClibc, BB-1.91
  I recently needed to apply a patch (using BB:patch) to an executable
script. I was surprised when I found the permissions changed from 755
to 644.  The same patch applied with GNU/patch does not affect the
permissions.
  I did not have an opportunity to track down the problem and had to
force the permission manually and continue. Could this be unique to my
BB config?
